Final Day!
Posted on July 31st, 2008 at 8:33 am by soccersarah22 and

What did you like about the program? What I liked about the program is how you spilted everything up so we had a beak after math, english or anything else. I also liked how there was small groups so we could get more attention, and get help on what we exactly needed help with. Over all i though the program was good. It helped me a little.

What I would like to see added and get rid of? I think maybe get rid of the blogging because it didn’t really have much to do with the program. My least thing about the program was blogging. One thing that i think should be added is maybe more time to have more fun like play scrabable.

Bye!!

11th Day – July 30, 2008

What other things do the restaurant owners need to consider when pricing their menu items? Some things you need to consider when pricing menu items is you need to consider how much money you are going to pay our workings, how much money you are paying for the building/ rent and you also need to consider paying for electricity.

What price would you recommend to the owners and why? I think a good price for us to sell the tostadas is $5.00. I think this is a good amount because first of all the highest tostada is $2.10 and we need to make a good amount of profit so that we could pay off the other things we need to pay off. We would be making a profit about $2.90 and more because $2.10 is the highest.

10th Day! July 29, 2008!
Posted on July 29th, 2008 at 8:58 am by soccersarah22 and

Today we first took notes about unit rate for the tostada project we are doing. After the notes i went with ms. Hallett and we did some mulitiply choice questions and one short answer. After math i went to english and i read a story about skunks. That was pretty interesting. after reading it we have to answer questions and write an open response. after english we work on the math project. I finsih finding adding up all the unit cost for the tostadas. What i learned about open response questions is not to put full senteces in directly from the story. only like excerps.

Today in the mcas program we are doing this new math project about cooking/shopping and we first had to start off by guessing how many different combinations there are for the tostadas food. i guessed 12 and i found the answer today and i made a pretty good guess. After math i went to english and we got back our cookie story. i did okay on it. not the greatest. every one had to fix the questions we got wrong. after we fixed the questions we did 2 poems and answer some questions on them. After english i went to play some games. i played scamble with tom, tamera, and mrs. p. we didn’t have enough time to finish the game but at the end i have the most amount of points.Since sarah Foley and i got here early we played snakes and ladders and i won the 2 games!!! How do I use Math in my every day life??

I use math in my every day life for different reasons. I have to use math when i go to the store. I need to know how much money to give to them and how much money i will get back so i no how much money to get back. I also use math when i go to the bank. Once i put money in i need to no how much will be in the bank so they don’t make any mistakes. Thats how i use math in my everyday life.

Today Sarah Foley and i played snakes and ladder and today for the first time i didn’t win!!! Once when the program started i first went with Ms. hart and i finished writting my open response then we read a story about chocolate chip cookies. I liked the story. Ms. Hart brought in chocolate chip cookies, but i didn’t eat any because i DON’T like CHOCOLATE! YUKKK!!! LANGUAGE ARTS WAS FUN! :) After english we played some games on the computer and after that we had a break then i went to math. In math we worked on a few more multiply choice questions then we did one open response question together. BYE!

MCAS Program 7th day!
Posted on July 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 am by soccersarah22 and

Today first thing Sarah Foley and i showed our power point to the class today. i though we did a good job on it. Good job Sarah Foley!! :) Also today I went with Ms. Hart and Mrs. Hallett. In English we read this story about the oldest olympic swimmer. The article was pretty interesting and i enjoyed reading it. After we finished reading it we had to write an open response to it about the physical and mental qualities that the swimmer has. I finished my first paragraph today and i have one more left. After English we had a break then i went with Mrs. Hallette. We answered 6 multiple choice questions and i got them all right. I only got stuck on 2 of them. But one of the ones i got stuck on was i already had all the steps done i just didn’t no what to do next. Math was fun! :) BYE!

6th day of MCAS!

Today when i got here i played checkers and snakes and ladder with Sarah. Of course i won. Sarah and I finished our power point and i think it came out pretty good. After the power point we took a break then i went to math. Math was fun. We did this thing call magic squares and we had to solve for x. I solved for x both times with out making any mistakes. I was happy about that. I like math the best. :) There’s only 2 more days left in this week.

5th Day! July 21, 2008
Posted on July 21st, 2008 at 8:42 am by soccersarah22 and

Today I woke up at 7:56a.m. Sarah Foley picked me up. Since we got her early she brought a mini chess game and we played that and i won. :) Today at the MCAS program i started off going to Ms. Hart and worked on English MCAS. We were continuing our work from last Thursday working on Military dogs. Today we had to write an open response to our prompt question. The question was What are some of the benefits of using dogs in the military? We had to write 2 paragraph since that is what the requirements are for 10th grade MCAS. After we finished writing them Ms. Hart made us read them out loud and she said i would have gotten a 3 out of 4. I was happy when i got that. Tomorrow i will be working with Mrs. Hallett hopefully with geometry. After English we had break then Sarah Foley and i went to go work on our Geometry project. We got 3 slides done and we are half way there. There are only 1 week and 3 days left. BYE! :)

Day 3! July 16, 2008
Posted on July 16th, 2008 at 8:14 am by soccersarah22 and

Today Mrs. Hallet showed me how to answer an open response geometry question. I knew most of the answers once we got going. I answered some of the questions she asked us too. :) Mrs. Belanger showed us a power point of the geometry project that we will be doing. It seems pretty interesting. I hope that when we do this project that I am with Sarah Foley! At break time Sarah and i walked around the track. After break time i went to go with Ms. Hart to work on English. We read an article about military dogs. The story was pretty interesting. After reading the article we had to answer 4 multiply choice questions. The questions were pretty easy because they were all in the article. I got 3 correct out of 4. I got stuck on one of the questions. After English i wrote in this blog. BYE!

Day 2 – July 15, 2008!!
Posted on July 15th, 2008 at 8:33 am by soccersarah22 and

Today is the second day of MCAS classes! There are not that many things that are hard and easy for me because it’s only the second day and we hardly have done anything. Some of the easy stuff for me is pretty much everything. Taking both surveys for math and English was pretty easy. I only got stuck on a couple math questions. A hard thing for me is getting up early because i am not used to getting up early. I usually get up around 9:00 to 9:30. My friend Sarah Foley brought me today again to the MCAS class. Today in class today i took a English survey then we played a game outside, and wrote in this blog. 10 Days left! BYE!!!
